i reckon prophet IS alcatraz, but goes back in time to give him the suit, because he talks about going bak, and at the end Alcatraz (i think it was alatraz) says " they call me .. Prophet.

To be honest, I figured Prophet was reborn in the game's ending. Like, I don't know, merging with Alcatraz....or maybe they swapped?

Hopefully some light will be shed on this......but because of its pleasant subtlety, hopefully not too much to the point where it has to make sense; that would just kill it. Until then we're left with speculation; I assume the Nanosuit has merged with Prophet in some sense, considering that there are brief instances where you see Prophet's face and he says "Wake up, marine! Get your @$$ back in the fight!" and the suit's AI faintly sounds like Prophet.

Of course, I've not played the first Crysis, so I'm no expert here.

i Think its more like, prophets mind (soul, spirit, ego... whatever suits you) had intergrated into the suit. just before he shot himself, he said that he had to break the link. this could refere to his mental self had become part of the nanosuit, and alcatraz is the body (still with his own free will and very much alive himself).

does this sound anything close to plausible?

Well, considering how advanced the Nanosuit is, perhaps something metaphysical(?) of Prophet was in fact augmented into the suit. Parts of Prophet's personality were perhaps recognized by the suit and made into patterns to make it sound like it's really him (reminds me of Zone of Enders : Second Runner). And then you've got all those nanomachines involved as well; for those who've played MGS4, you're all probably aware of the whole nanomachine plot device (cop-out, if you ask me, depending on whatever).

All I can say is that the Nanosuit is very advanced, and when merged with Ceph technology, extraordinary things are likely to happen, maybe even happenings that are beyond logical description (omg jesus is in the suit lolololol). But to be honest I'm having a hard time trying to justify my speculation here; maybe I should read up more on the Crysis wikia...

Nice. The body is Alcatraz, but the speaker is Prophet (maybe as long as he is in the suit?).

Prophet's memory is embedded into the suit. The suit, much like the apparatus that's simulating Hargreave, is able to simulate Prophet.

But I thought Hargreave was different. I thought he was still alive, but contained in that stasis capsule (or cryo-capsule?), and was able to digitize his sentience.

As for Prophet's memories being embedded in the suit, that seems like something rather feasible, though the technology for such a thing would have to be extremely advanced (as is the case of the developers of the Nanosuit).....and it does remind me of the Viola AI from ZOE2 as I stated above (patterns to replicate her personality, etc).

I think a lot of what we see in Crysis 2 is feasible because of the potential nanomachines have. We still have a ways to go IRL with them, but I sense some reference to MGS4 in Crysis, even if MGS4's has some exaggerations (such as Vamp being "immortal" due to nanomachines, which can quickly replicate any broken tissue and such, hence why he can't die from any wounds......though being shot in the forehead and living via such nanos doesn't make sense to me).

Did u play the same game as me?
Its obvious. The suit takes ur mind over and leaves ur body as empty corpse as Prophet said in a backflash "U knew the suit would make them walking deadbodys!".
Just as it happened to the "mybrainisinacomputer" guy, Prophet′s mind combined with his suit.
Alcatraz took the suit and Prophet′s mind took over Alcatraz or at least their minds became one.
Prophet didnt know that but at least he seemed to like the idea of bein immortal and took over their bodies.
Sry for bad english.

PS: Tha "overtake" of Prophet would explain why Alcatraz has no character at ALL. Nomad had a calm character and Psycho was a beast of a character but Alcatraz didnt speak a word in the hole game.
This could be a sight that Alcatraz is just a person of "use".

PPS: Now everything is clear! "Alcatraz" a sight for the prison in wich Prophet is cought! Damn im that smart...

The Nanosuit 2.0, before rebooting again, states assimilation complete, and Prophet's memories are now "assimilated" into Alcatraz

That meant that the alien spores are assimilated not Prophets mind.

We tried to answer this question http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=14713. Check it out, see what you think. I think all the ideas were already covered :P if not tell me, and I'll add 'em.

Hargreave is (or was, depending on how far you are into the campaign) different. I simply said the technology is basically the same.

From what I understand, Prophets DNA was infused into the Nanosuit (and therefor Alcatraz's DNA), It's likely that Alcatraz and Prophet are now of the same being.
