Make a face into a Nif?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 8:30 pm

There must be some way to do it. After all, there are the pre-rendered faces on guys in the loading screens.

I need to make a mask that looks like a face. Ideas?

Not sure if this is helpful, but when you export facegen data it literally just makes a nif. Not sure if it's formatted or 'right' or anything though.

Huh. Someone else was asking about making a load screen mesh from an NPC and I didn't think it would be possible without jumping through hoops. Did not even think of the facegen data. It looks to be a perfectly valid nif. Thanks Alexander!

In the object window select the 'Actor' catagory, then highlight (select) your actor, and hit Control + F4. Say yes, and it will export the facegen data and related texture to "Meshes (Or Textures)\Actors\Character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom(FaceTint for textures)\MyMod.Esp\"

That will give you a nif and the texture for it, that you should in theory be able to use like any other nif from the game.
