Make high end items untradeable

Don't let this game turn into SWTOR. Why do I say this? Because you can buy the best equipment in the game off the GTN (their auction house). One person may have spent weeks and weeks getting the best equipment from hard mode and nightmare level raids (due to the 7 day lockout timer). Now, give a new level 50 20million credits, give them 30 minutes and they instantly have the best equipment in the game simply because its tradeable.

Many people left because of this. When these new "GTN 50s" come into a hard raid with a guild, they sit there and ask TACTS WHAT ARE TACTICS. /facepalm. Not only did they buy their equipment but they also couldnt be bothered to use Google to look up the tactics.

If they were bound in this game, it would be fine for merchants because they have other things to trade, it would also be good for the hardcoe raiders because they'd stand out, if you see someone with the best stuff in the game you'll know they're experienced. Sadly, none of this happens in SWTOR, you cant stand out or be unique.

We'll see.

If the game's payment model is B2P + cash shop the chance is a lot bigger that this will happen.
Look at GW2 where people can buy gold for cash and get full best stat exotics + sup. runes within 10 minutes.

On the other hand, if crafters can't sell their wares or only below-best quality, it will severely decrease the viability of wanting to be an expert crafter.

This can be prevented if you can't buy stuff in the cash shop or - indirectly - by buying gold for RL Cash.

No no i'm talking about the items you get from defeating the hardest boss in the game etc...unique items that only drop from them. But what I dont want is similar items of the same stats to that weapon being tradeable.

You seem to have very strong opinions.

First, I'm in support of bound gear. It's pretty much required in some sense to cause high end items to effectively leave the market. That said, if the best gear in this game is crafted, it should be tradable until used. Getting the best gear shouldn't require you to be a crafter, only to know one.

Anyway, I personally do not expect everyone in a raid to know what the ideal tactics are on first entering. It should be possible to figure out how to kill a boss without either installing a mod or going to youtube. This really has little to do with the ease of gearing up, however.

Yeah, I was referring to hard mode raids where the tactics are more complicated. And I dont want someone running around with better equipment than me despite never entering combat since they reached 50.

To get the best gear should require skill.

But hell I want to make loads of gold and it's so easy when you just sell highend gear.
