Make NPC drink, and sabrecat eat

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 2:16 pm

I want an NPC to be seen to drink a potion. Can it be done? I've tried both eating and activating procedures in a package without success, but maybe I've missed something.

I also want to make a sabrecat feed at a spot, and thought the idleFeeding idle sounded perfect, but seems only to make cats crouch. I tried a sandbox procedure with allow eating as the only option, but no luck. But I'm sure I've seen them eat - anyone know how?

You could try using Idle Markers. The one thing with using those is that the action may only be random. You can create your own marker to cause just about any action you want.

Actually I have got the drink potion idle marker working - probably more by luck than judgement, because I don't understand what was stopping it working before - the chap just gazed at the ceiling every time. Oh well.

But the sabrecat problem remains, because the 'idleFeeding' idle is not the sabrecat feeding animation.

The Saber Cat does have it’s own animation for feeding. You can see it listed in the “animation” tab when you open the Saber Cat editor. Unfortunately I don’t know of any way to trigger it in the way you are looking for. I did notice another setting in the IdleMakers titled “Special Feeding”. You might try that and see if it works.
Sorry I can’t be of anymore help.

No chance :(

I am overwhelmed with Animations that do not and will not work on an Idle Marker.

Same as horses drinking (in the end, I went for the eating idle-marker ... looks OK ... sorta ...).

Custom Animations: In a few months/years someone will make the community massively happy and release a methodology for making them.

I think you can force the animation via a script sort of in the same way as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRz12_ykvf4&feature=youtu.be&hd=1 but how you would go about setting up the script and writing it, i have absolutly no idea - or if its even possible

There is also http://www.creationkit.com/PlayIdle_-_Actor, and you could perhaps also try http://www.creationkit.com/SendAnimationEvent_-_Debug--just read the notes at the bottom.
