[REQ] Make the containers in your house safe

Post » Sat May 19, 2012 5:02 am

I was playing today and I was about to dump my latest collection of alchemy ingredients in the cupboard at the back of Breezehome when I noticed it was reset to the default inventory. almost 100 Nirnroots, 7 or 8 daedra hearts and a TON of other ingredients had just vanished. I thought the containers in the home were safe, and now I've wasted over 80 hours on my character to find out I will have to start over so I won't be losing all my ingredients again. Please someone make the player homes Safe.

Try https://rapidshare.com/files/3564522452/NoResetZone.esp? The http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/Encounter_Zone for all the player homes, NoResetZone [ECZN:000F90B1], doesn't have its "Never Resets" flag ticked by default. If it works, I'll tell Beth and Kivan.

Man, and I just started hoarding valuables in Breezehome, too. I hope that ESP works! :D

Not everything. Just any containers that aren't the storage chest.

It seems only certain containers are designed to never respawn. Rest are fair game.

Me either. Also use the dresser? near the firepit to store food. All the containers in the bedroom have been filled also, and nothing has been lost. Sounds like a random bug

So is it just containers that are labelled with specific functions such as "Storage Chest", "Apothecary Satchel" that don't get reset,
but generic named containers such as "Dresser", "End Table" etc get reset?

What mods is the OP using?
Because one of them could be causing problems with interior cells or something.

According to the Official Strategy Guide, ALL containers in ALL available player homes are safe. I've got almost 200 hours in and 3 characters going and have never had any of the vanilla containers respawn. Must be a mod doing it?

I'm with Balok. I've got 100+ hours in one of my characters w/ Breezehome, and have never had any of the containers reset. Are you running a mod that somehow changes Breezehome, such as the "add an enchanting table" mod? It's possible, particularly as we don't have the CK yet, that a mod to Breezehome accidentally borked the NeverReset flag.

Are you married. In Skyrim, as in real life, your wife takes your things without your permission. This is especially true when it comes to alchemy ingredients.

I reported this before, but what I later realized is that when this was happening I had a zones reset mod active. This was not about a container though, but the placement of a cup.

After removing that zones reset mod the problem went away and I've never had anything come up missing in Breezehome and at this point I use every container.

Are any who are having missing items also using any for of cell reset mod?

I have no mods and use all containers in Breezehome without issue.

Speaking of Breezehome, does anyone else FT home once and in awhile and find a Whiterun guard in their house? Nothing has ever come up missing but it seems to happen most frequently after i have freshly placed items about the place. Of course every time this happens all of my freshly placed items are now on the floor and the guard shows himself out soon after i arrive.

Maybe he's just ransacking your place, looking for stolen items?

I've noticed that if a guard starts to talk to you when you enter Breezehome he will be transported to the interior as well so that he can finish telling you about his knee. They they leave.

OP is an idiot who checked the wrong container because the alchemy room is so dark he missed the chest he suddenly remembered putting everything into... AFTER deleting 12 hours worth of saves. :( Sometimes, we just overlook small things. Made up 6 hours of that 12 already though. :D

I'm LOLing!

But it is true, if someone starts talking to you, they tend to follow you inside of wherever you're going, I had this happen a ton of times using
that ladder exit in the Thieves Guild.

Apparently the NPC's think their stories are so important they have to follow me, even though they've told me the same story over 200 times now.
