OK...I'm having a blast so far in my first (yes I know) Elder Scrolls game ever as a level 10 Khajiit with focuses on destruction and one-handed for combat, along with archery support. Here's my ordeal, and I'm sure it's been touched on before here. I can't seem to get in a "money-making groove" so to speak. I've done a couple bounties, raided some places, I've been improving then selling all my two-handed finds, but it's taking forever to reach that first 5k mark. I'd love to get that house so I can store stuff and trek with minimal supplies a la all of my Fallout characters.

What's your favorite way to earn money early on? Are there any metaphorical goldmines of opportunities in Whiterun?

FYI: My current depth thus far in the game, main story wise, is retrieving the horn. Besides Whiterun, I've discovered Windhelm and that's it in terms of major cities.
