Making armor enchantable?

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 4:05 am

I use Triss Armor http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5135 . By default, it was just armor, not even craftable or upgradeable. I've made it capable of both.

Next question is do I need to make new sets in the CK to cover every enchantment type or will the enchants work if I put them on the armor? What I mean, does Triss Armor enchanted with something like Boost Light Armor Skill need to be made seperately in the CK, so it has it's own ID number? I'm guessing it will, which would turn this into a much bigger hassle than I was thinking early on.

So, do I need to create a new armor (with new ID) for each kind of enchantment? Or no?

Do those armors have keywords on them?

Every enchanted variant is a separate item.

Uhm... I think this is wrong. I'm pretty sure you can just create an armor and as long as it doesn't already have an enchant it can be enchanted (There could also be a setting 'can be enchanted' or something). I'm pretty positive that you don't need to make an item for every possible enchant.

Yeah this is wrong, you don't need to make an item for every enchantment.
The only reason there are so many EnchItemWhatever armours and weapons in the CK is so they can appear as random loot.

Ah I thought that this was the objective.

As long as an item is not already enchanted and does not have the keyword "MagicDisallowEnchanting" it can be enchanted ingame.

This is just for my character to wear, not as random loot. Unfortunately, the guy who originally made the mod and put it on Nexus has basically disappeared. I'd asked for permission to upload my version, but no reply. I'm sure others using this set would like to upgrade it. (There is an "upgradeable" Triss Armor on Nexus, but it's an omod, for some ungodly reason).
