Making it easier to shop for tomes

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:38 pm

Great game, just one thing that annoys me, there is no way to see what tomes you already have learned while shopping making it a tedious task :banghead:

Hope the devs can look into this. Fantastic game, thank you for your time and effort.

Well, when they have like 50 tomes for sale, be nice to easily see if you have learned it already instead of tabbing out check my skills, then talk again....

Guess I will have to get a pen and piece of paper and write down all the skills which seems redundant :frog:

Agree--not having this feature adds nothing to the game and I can't imagine why it was overlooked.

Wouldn't not having any type of feature not add to a game?

Anyways, just look at your spell list before you open up the shop. Better yet, know which spell you want beforehand. Look at your list and see what you're missing.

Not really...I assume leaving some convenience features out was intentional to add to immersion/difficulty.

i.e. not showing ingredients' properties without first experimenting with them or discovering them through books etc.

Any of the mages who live in the city castles sell tomes. The higher the level, the more unlock. And yes, it is a hassle to keep track of which ones you have unlocked and which you don't. It probably wouldn't be that hard to make the tomes go "gray" like items in the disenchant menu that you already know the spell of, or reagents on the alchemy menu that you have already tested and found imcompatible.

I have certainly spent gold on spell tomes only to find out that I aready have the spell, and then have to sell them back at a loss... While certainly not game-beaking, it is still an annoyance. I can't care too much though. After all, the ones I have bought in doubles by accident are still advancing my bartering skill...

I have always thought that there should not be any reason for a player to need a pen and paper when playing a computer/video game.

Any reference materials should be accessible via the interface or some other in-game mechanism.

Any swapping between screens can be chalked up to a poorly designed page layout.

There should be a note added in the weight and value box that tells you if you already know that spell.
