Making the House More "Mage Friendly" ?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:14 pm

Hey guys,

As you can tell from the topic name, I'm trying to make my house well-off for a mage.

Even though I'm adding an armory (because I'm into smithing too), I am wondering if there is a good spot for magic training.

For those of you who have become the Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold, you should know by now that the top of the tower is the perfect place to practice your spells without harming anybody nearby.

In addition to getting the Enchanter's Tower and the Alchemy Laboratory, is there really an open spot for magic practice?

I've been thinking instead of having an alchemy laboratory (which I really use quite often), instead just making an empty storage room and lighting it up with the sconces, and using that instead.

Anybody found an open space similar to what I'm looking for?

The alchemy and Enchaters towers are pointless in my opinion since you can get the enchanters table and alchemy lab in the main house area. so it is best if you chose something else and practice spells outside.

And how about the trophy room? Then you can practice on stuff that looks like some of your actual targets

This. Which is why I'm disappointed the library and the armory are in the same wing - can't have both in the same house.

Isn't there a room with archery targets on the balcony? I'd use those.

I agree. They should have let you choose which wing you want and add it to whichever side you wanted.
