Where can I find a mammoth tusk for Ysolda? I have already found the mammoth tusk powder, but there is no quest marker for the mammoth tusk itself.

Kill a mammoth, or go over to halted steam camp. Enter the cave, and you will find several in a hand cart right by the entrance.

There is a mammoth tusk on a shelf behind the bar at the inn in Whiterun. You need to steal it but it's really easy to get. Just move it to somewhere no one will see you or jump on the beams from the room for rent and grab it there.

Especially if you're low level, I'd really think twice or maybe three times before attempting to kill a mammoth. You might run into the Giant wearing the San Francisco uniform and find out how far 300 meters is in the game. They don't take kindly to having their pets killed.

2 Tusks can be found behind the desk at the bannered mare, one in the chest, and one on the top shelf. Another one can be found in one of the companions quarters.

The easiest is in the bannered mare on the shelf you can easily sneak and snatch it.

Halted Stream is a great place. It's mostly low-ish level bandits. If you're lucky you can get either Amren's Sword quest for there or a bounty quest from Proventus for there. Check them first....

There are around 8 or 9 mammoth tusks in there. And you'll need another one for a quest in Riften eventually....

Don't forget in the case you want to down a mammoth at a low level... get lots of arrows, poisons, and stand on high rock. Takes a long time typically, also helpful for giants... but their reach and AI is better.

You can also find a Transmute spell tome in this cave. Well worth the trip.

Just go to the little shop in Whiterun there and buy one. That's what I did. Of course now I have like six tusks. I'll be holding on to these just in case.

I think I also saw one in one of the rooms in the Jarl's quarters. Probably the one with all the silver ingots.

Kite some Giants to Twin moons camp, it's a big nordic ruin, very hard to miss, let them take care of the bandits, then at the top is a small-ish roomy thing with a forge inside and some weapons with very unique enchantments Neither Giant nor Mammoth can reach you inside. Just bring plenty of arrows.

That's how I killed a mammoth at level 4 (5 by the end of the ordeal)

I can usually buy one from the Khajiit caravan outside, but this is pretty random. Halted Stream Camp is a sure thing, plus who doesn't love killing bandits?
