What do you guys think of the new Superman movie coming out next year?

I liked how it looked but I didn't like how they used Lord of the Rings music with it haha.

My thoughts exactly, no one uses Lord of the Rings music. The part where Gandalf dies.

I think the cast, production team, and director are all awesome. It's the fact that they're making another bloody reboot with a "grim" edge that makes me sceptical, a Superman reboot at that.

I'll assume 'refined and distinctive gentlemen with impeccable taste' is in the censored brackets. Really though, Snyder's films are like glorified music video's. Not a fan.

This is basically Nolan's version of Superman meaning it will likely have a Batman Begins theme to it.

Yeah, I see Nolans name and I automatically believe that the film will have good potential. And you were pretty close with the bracket guess

As long as he's not writing the thing, he can actually be pretty good.

I find it hard to believe that a movie could be bad if it has Nolan's name attached to it, but then again, he's only a producer, and the director is ultimately what determines how a movie turns out. 300 was decent, but there wasn't a lot to it once you looked past the artistic style. I also thought Watchmen was just ok...I found it to be far too dense of a movie.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the movies that Nolan has been attached to (the only ones if his that I haven't seen are Following and The Prestige). He rarely miscasts characters (Robin Williams in Insomnia was ok, but not believable), which is another one of his strong suits. Of course, he directed all of those movies. So, I guess we'll see how it turns out.

It definitely is sad with the movie industry lately and how they are trying to play it "Safe" so to speak with reboots. Think it's due to the fact that there aren't that many great ideas out there, or if there are any ideas they are flushed down the toilet for god awful Michael Bay POS movies with explosions and gun pr0n to sooth the action nuts.

Unfortunately, I find it to go to the extreme opposite end of the spectrum with drawn out dull movies coming out as well.

They couldn't have picked a worse director.

Que?!?!

300 was a great movie with down time, action, and backing to make it an epic event imho. The main part I liked about 300 was that in the end the Main Character lost and died contradicting that belief the hero always wins.

Only thing that will make me really see this movie is if they do a great story with Doomsday arriving to kill superman. Want to see a pure to the heart story where superman dies at the hands of Doomsday. At the end Superman forsakes his so called "Boy scout" bravado and plunges his hand deep into Doomsday's chest killing him. Both of them fall to the ground and Doomsday dies just seconds before Superman does. (That animated film still disgusts me with the only thing being likeable was Doomsday being found in that underground prison.)

I'll wait until I know more to make a judgment call, right now all I've seen is one trailer which really didn't make sense to me until I saw that it was for a movie called Man of Steel. Actually, why isn't it just called Superman?
Anyways, Superman really isn't one of my favorite comic book characters, so a 'new' movie doesn't really grab my attention that much.

Why wasn't Batman 2 called Batman Something or other instead of just The Dark Knight? Because it sounds cool, that's why.

Batman Begins? Maybe I'm thinking from a marketing point of view, (almost) everyone knows the name Superman, but not as many people know that he's also the Man of Steel.

I did really like Nolan's Batman movies, so maybe I'll give this one a break. :P

Looks pretty good. As long as it gets the bad taste out of my mouth from the last one in '06, I'll be happy.

Lol, just when I thought they couldn't POSSIBLY come up with another crappy superhero movie. I mean, do enough people watch these things to make them worth filming??? As for using the LOTR soundtrack, it's a [censored] disgrace, this pile of cinematographic garbage isn't worthy.

I'd have to agree with you on this one. I didn't like 300 and have never wanted to see watchmen. Hopefully all the action isn't in slow motion. I'm hopeful that this remake will be good. So far Batman didn't disappoint, but the new spiderman doesn't look good at all. I am kind of Super Heroed out... Can't they come up with better ideas?

300 is one of my favorite movies, but not because the plot or acting is good or because it's historically accurate (my oh my it isn't). It's because the fighting is done very well, it's an action movie that's actually interesting to watch, and the first time watching it, there's always this anticipation of "What new devilry will these dastardly Persians throw at them next?"

I'll assume you think the superhero Thor is the only one in existence and have never heard about the Norse god? This particular pic is from Age of Mythology.

How is the fighting interesting to watch? Most of it is in slow motion. It's more annoying than anything.
