Mannequins: STILL bugged

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 12:01 pm

Heaven help you if you put, say, a set of Stormcloak armour on an armoury mannequin and then, further down the line, replace it with a full set of Falmer armour as a trophy. Or a light Imperial set for a Heavy set.

Because the sodding things just keep duplicating and replacing whatever you put on the mannequin.

Seriously, this was broken from time to time in Hjerim (one character could change mannequin equipment just fine, one was stuck with one locked as a Whiterun Guard) and it's a MUCH bigger problem in Hearthfire. Two of my Lakeview Mannequins are now basically useless. The Falmer one I managed to sort of fix, providing I ignore the fact the boots permenantly switch to Fur boots now. The Imperial one is stuck on light armour, and will duplicate infinitely if I try and remove/swap it.

While I appreciate the potential free gold exploit, I REALLY hate that this bug is still here. It's bad enough that the trophy room animals are permenant with no option to change them (stupidly enough...) without having the supposedly changeable option bollocksed as well! ??

Am I the *only* one having this problem? If so, that's just damn depressing...

Nope, you're not the only one. My upstairs mannequin in Windstad Manor keeps endlessly producing Taron Dreth's Robes and the basemant keeps spawning Krosis masks and Ancient Falmer armor sets. Doesn't matter what I put them or leave them "empty".

I'd like to display the armors I want, not an infinite gold glitch.

It also seems to remove any smithing improvements made to armors.

It's not like gold is even that hard to come by. I actually run into the reverse problem; I often can't sell better kit to merchants due to their limited gold store, meaning I have to stockpile a lot. I'm also stockpiling due to vampire attacks in towns in dawnguard, which makes me not want to travel there. I've been able to put it off for a good while now, but my main chest is getting filled with loot that will one day need selling/crafting into other stuff.

Either way, I'd just like the mannequins to work as intended, so I can use them as intended, heh.

Oh, and now ALL the mannequins in the Armory have sunk into the cupboards they are stood on, meaning they are only visible from the waist up. With nothing displaying.

Dagon take whoever coded this -_-

Edit: Ok, fixed on exiting house and re-entering. But, seriously, this is the most buggy stuff I've encountered to date. I'm not fussed by little things and gfx glitches and stuff, but this is taking not just the cake but the whole damn bakery.

This was happing to me also.

Try this it worked for me. Take the armor off that you don't want on the mannequins. Back off the Mannequin, then place the armor that you want on. Then back off the mannequin again. Then go to the mannequin again and while still in the menu take off and put the armor back on the mannequin.

I had a problem with the ancient shrouded armor I was changing it with the blades armor and this allowed me to keep the blades armor on the mannequin.

This, exactly.

I can't even go inside my Manor to get to the mannequins. I didn't get a chance to use any of them before I was frozen out, but only one appeared out of place ... floating in mid-air, halfway across the cabinet base thing.
