manual on steam?

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 8:29 pm

I bought the prima guide for the maps etc, but I really just need a basic manual for a few basic things that haven't been explained via gameplay so far, for example what different icons mean on the compass. There doesn't seem to be a manual listed in the game library on steam, there is "guide" listed but clicking that only brings me to the store page, very strange. Anyway, can anyone tell me where to find the manual? I'm pretty sure even though I bought a digital copy I should at least have a manual...

Likewise... this not having a manual for Steam purchasers is terrible.

The manual with the boxed copy for 360 is like 2-3 pages in 4-5 different languages. In my region anyway. You're not missing much.

Scab, that's kind of weird cause i seen some of those 'leaked' manual screenshots on the web (blurry as all hell) but it does show there is alot to it.
Really dont know what to say, so many things seem confusing and just randomly trying to make the game work is quite frustrating.

This is an epic fail for both Bethesda and Steam.

This is from the digital Prima guide:

Tip

Please read through the Instruction Manual that you received with your game, and familiarize yourself with the tenets of this adventure. This training pre-supposes you have already read and digested this information

Wtf I bought the game, I want the manual!! I shouldn't have to buy a physical copy to get the manual! Sorry, venting, but I'm really frustrated with this. If someone would post at least the information about the compass icons it'd be really great.

Well I found some screenshots of the manual on kotaku, looks like there is *plenty* of information in there that it would be nice to read. This basic stuff is NOT in the Prima guide that I paid $26 for.

Yeah a manual would be nice but I guess it's too expensive. The manual in the normal pc-box consists of 2 pages that shows the key-bindings on one page and the hud on the other. Very cheap and crappy

Edit: Oh yeah forgot they do have the must_have explanations of what the main menu options mean.
New Game : Begin a new game of Skyrim
Load : Allows you to select from a list of previously saved games.
And couple of otherwise incomprehensible menu options like what "Continue" means and so on.

Well the link I posted shows a pretty nice manual, at least on the 360 version.

Yeah that would've been nice to have. You'd think they could add one of those to the normal PC edition too.
I mean is it too much to ask that a game with as many choices as this comes with a manual to help you choose ? Do you have to buy a CE to get a manual ?
They added a large paper map but couldn't be bothered to add a manual, not even as a file on the DVD

No manual. Bethesda only had like 100 million USD to work with guys. Geez, cut em' some slack.

Less than half as many pages as the Morrowind manual. Have to save something for that strategy guide, I guess.

Looks like others have found link to the manual, but I'd also add that if you hit ESC in game and then click HELP, there is a lot of stuff there explaining various elements of the game.
