any chance of a map facility, even a one use item to help plan route to target, i am dying or being seen due to blinking to unsafe spots and falling etc.

Just need to be more careful with your blinks, then. If you hold the blink spell for a minute before releasing, you can see a downward cylinder which shows you where you'll land.
