Map Pack DLC...

Post » Sat May 29, 2010 1:51 am

It 's cool that they are releasing new maps, (but I think we'd rather have all the problems fixed first) but this is the only part that bothers me...

"It is confirmed that for the Xbox Live the DLC will cost you 800 MSP so similar pricing is expected on the other platforms."

Now I see what everyone else has been saying for a while....Looks like "the other platforms" aren't as important as Xbox unfortunately...plus this news was also released on a Xbox forum first..I know they said in the post coming to all versions, but couldn't they say at least "Coming to Xbox, PS3 and PC"...

I'm not trying to start any wars, I just read it and saw the other platforms part and realized what PS3 and PC have been saying for awhile is (hopefully not) true.

I expect a FREE DLC as a compensation for the issues we have to encounter throughout the game...

It'd be nice if we could get it free cause of all the problems, but it should only be like 4.99 if not free.

Crytek wouldn't be the first developer to release a free DLC in compensation for problems in the game if they actually considered it.
Rockstar Games did it with Red Dead, Ubisoft did it with Assassins Creed Brotherhood (2 free DLC's actually), though, i don't think it was because of game issues.

Let's be honest, 6 maps on a disc are not much...

Yeah, they should prioritize fixing the game over releasing DLC's... But that's how the industry works nowadays!

I expect the Sandbox to be released for PC that way we can make our own maps and put them on 360 and PS3. Hell I'd rather pay for Community made Map Packs as opposed to DLC.... At least I know the community plays a part.

Didn't know Crytek announced any DLC. Nor can I find any mention of it on Eurogamer, CVG, Joystiq, IGN (not that I actually read that crap mind), or GameSpot.

In fact, 'The Tech Game' appears to be the only ones who know of this DLC. Really guys, the chances are they just made the whole thing up. Wait for Crytek or EA to announce any DLC before getting excited.

^^
I didn't see the Tech Game link in the original link, thanks for pointing that out. It was pretty small lol.
You could be onto something there with that.

@JPController
That'd be awesome, but I doubt XBL would allow custom maps, but PS3 will, kinda like with UT3 with the maps and mods.
