Mark of The Outsider meaning...

I am not sure if any of this has been brought up, but I'm thinking I MIGHT be the first to notice/bring this up. The mark on the runes has a striking resemblance to a compass, it even appears to have an N denoting north that is harder to see than the actual mark. Scratches in a ring formation seem to indicate a radial pattern like that on a compass. Furthermore, on the bone charms, the letters S and E seem to be carved into the bone fragments, and looking back at the runes, it appears that the "compass" might be pointing South-East. If this is all indeed true, what does the direction South-East have to do with the Outsider? Is it a nod to where to look for him or something else (for example, if he is a Leviathan in the depths to the SE) or maybe some other secrets? I find it hard to believe that there isn't something more to all of this, even if it's simply some silly easter egg that only a dev would understand, like their hometown or such plugged into the game. It could just be a nod to nautical navigation, as well, but then that would end with that and be no fun; no interesting trail or rabbit hole to follow. What do you guys think... am I crazy?

Realized that "E" could just be a "W" sideways... not sure, running on little sleep and it's hard to find images of the runes.
