Marriage candidates

Post » Tue Jul 31, 2012 2:38 pm

Hi i was wondering if there will be new marriage candidates for skyrim ps3. The ones like hroki, carlotta, elisif and many more should be mariage candidates. Anyone else think so too?

First thing is first: divorce. It would be a tragedy if my battle axe missed the mannequin and hit something else.

When two different kinds of people have babies in Skyrim, they will be Nords. Like if a Redguard and an Orc had a baby, it would be a Nord.

According to game lore, men and elves are interfertile (the child is the same race as the mother), but I think Khajiit and Argonians can only reproduce with their own kind.

It doesn't happen in the game, you're pure-blooded something, but it is also stated that the child might have some aspects of the father as well. For instance, a child of an imperial mother and an altmer father would be imperial, but might have more magicka and a longer lifespan. It's also possible that a Dunmer baby with a Nord father would have both fire and frost resistance. In any case, babies are problematic for a number of reasons. For those of us who want kids, I'm hoping they implement an adoption DLC.

Far as marriage goes, with the number of spouses available, marriage is already pretty generic. Adding more prospective spouses (spice?) wouldn't help things much. To make courtship/marriage/family life the rich and complex experience that so many people want it to be, they'd have to seriously decrease the number of marriable people available.

I want the ability to get multiple wives. I want wives in all the holds. My houses won't clean themselves.

I think we have enough candidates, would like there to be a better mixture of races, but for the most part there is are enough personality types for everyone. I also like that getting married is a simpler task then in real life, makes sense to me since there is a good chance of dying in a bandit raid, due to the weather, random monster or dragon. You would just want someone that’s willing to try and love you, or at least live with you and help keep each other alive.

It’s after you get married I would like worked on. The home cooked meal is a nice idea, shows that they do care about your well being. It would just be nice if they did more than just run a store. Wander the town that you live in, interact with the town’s folk, pass along quest and/or bounties they’ve heard about. If your spouse is of the Follower type, maybe take on a quest on their own if you left them at home for an extend period. Imagine you just decided to check out a cave and near the entrance you find a few dead enemies and your spouse walks over from the bodies to inform you on what is going on and ask you if you would like to help them.

Got that last idea after running into my wife Ria out hunting with Vilkas and thought that was cool that she was out and about.

There is a lack of non nord male followers in the game. I think there are just three that fit what you stated. Their being so many nords can just be wrote off as you are in Skyrim. As for there being no Male high elves and no wood elves I don't understand that, its not like there hard to find, there are a lot of them in the game.
Just makes me wonder what they were thinking when they were picking what NPCs could be married.

That's already in the game.

I say increase the number of marriage candidates, and rework it so that it is more than just a new means of income.
