So here i am near the end of the main story as thats all i have been doing and i have had Lydia with me since when she was first avaliable and she has not left my side since, i also have had the amluet of mara on since i first went to riften aswell. Ayet although i have spent a conciderable amount of time with her i have herd nothing of a personal quest for her or any romance options, can anyone help me out on how i do both please guys?

I don't think you can marry Lydia. The marrying thing is only for certain NPCs, she isn't one of them from what I've played (and seen through gameplay videos).
Truthfully the whole relationship thing stupid, at least that's what I think. It seems like they just added it in, in the last minute just for the sake of it.
But for each their own. Hopefully mods help out with the whole marrying thing and they are actually worth it, at least from a story point of view. They can carry your stuff, that is the most usefulness I find for them (her) at the moment.

Someone who has the guide posted a list of NPCs that can be married and Lydia was on the list. I don't know how it's done though. It seems a few people have been having trouble getting it to work.
