Marrying The Caller

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:27 am

Is their a way for my Altmer character to marry The caller? I'm kinda disappointed that the only Altmer that's available for marriage is that snobby Tailor from solitude.

Your an Altmer snobby is a racial trait, that being said there shoud be console commands if your on the PC that might work. I will tell you this though if you marry Taarie she stops being snobby... to you.

Actually my Altmer isn't all that snobby, and doesn't have a racial trait that you typically would see in altmers, especially the thalmor.

My Altmer character has no interests in marrying Taarie. Shes just not his type. I will have to find the console code for PC.

The caller usually attacks all of my characters but not my Altmer character. She actually allowed him to take the books without hassle. I think she has a thing for him :)

Why does it hurt? I like her as well, and i think many people do

Maybe its because she doesnt have that "immasnobbishthalmor" voice.

Or, your Altmer's the only character that you leveled the speech skill. She won't attack anyone if you talk civilly with her from the start.

In general, what was the reason behind having so few options for marriage? Was it a matter of programming? I know nothing about how that stuff works which leads me to believe space was limited. But being able to marry someone always depends on completion of X quest, Thaneship, favor, status, etc. For example, to marry anyone in the Companions, you have to become the leader. Why not just do the same with the Thieves Guild, DB, College of Winterhold, etc.?

I understand that it would be a major PITA (and probably not possible) to assign every NPC in the game some sort of favor to give you in order marry them, but it does seem like there was room to be able to marry anyone in any of the guilds.

The snobby tailor actually talks nice to you after you invest in her store.

Time constraints. They were pressing for that 11/11/11 release date.

I wondered about that too. It seems like a lot of things were left out or underdone because of it; hence 6 patches in 7 or 8 months. Hopefully they amend this in the future, but it's probably not a high priority. There are better things to be done with the game.

Since my Altmer is a pure mage my primary focus is conjuration, Destruction, Illusion and Restoration. I haven't even touch the Speechcraft. Maybe Altmers are smooth talkers?

I buy and I sell a lot of things... I just haven't invested in putting any points on the speechcraft.

I figured that Raizen Sama meant unlocking perks as investing in speechcraft, not just increasing skill level.

Yes that's what I meant about investing in the speechcraft, by investing in perks.

For some NPCs you don't even need the perks to successfully pass a speech check. The Caller is one of those NPCs.

I guess it depends on what race you're on. I guess since shes an Altmer and my character is an Altmer that theirs some kind of connection. All of my nord character she refused to give me the books and I had to kill her by force.

This has nothing to do with the original problem but I got side tracked. If you click on altmer female npc's the daedric prince Meridia Is there.
