Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

*WARNING: OP HAS LITTLE-TO-NO SPOILERS, BUT OTHER POSTS MAY CONTAIN SPOILER CONTENT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED*

So by now, two episodes of Agents of SHIELD have been aired, and reviews are in. The majority of reviewers seem to agree that episode one was okay, and episode two improved a lot. And I kinda agree.

*LIGHT SPOILERS*

I liked the entire first episode until the last ten seconds. The flying car zooming off into the distance Back To The Future- style kinda spoiled the episode. But the rest was decent, and I enjoyed it. Especially all the references to the movies.

What did you guys think of Agents of SHIELD? And do you agree with what the reviewers say?

When I saw the last scene in the first episode, I was so sure he would say "Where we're going, we don't need roads." :P

But it has been quite decent so far. I agree with the reviewers in that the second episode was much better than the first. I get a good chuckle from the British scientists (twins?) as well (I'm terrible with character names in TV shows; have to watch half a season to remember all of the main character's names). :P

I agree that I like the British scientist-twin-kid-best buddies, it adds a touch of diversity. But they are really latching onto the stereotype of British=Brain and American=Brawn.

Another thing that annoys me is people saying "One's Scottish, the other's British." No... One's Scottish. One's English. They're. Both. British!

Don't you say anything bad about Lola. :P

The show certainly has potential, but time will tell if it lives up to it.

The flying car is a shield classic :P

I'm really enjoying it so far, which is saying something because Whedon shows svck majorly at first (Bar Firefly.)

Whoa!! This thread could've used some more SPOILER tags. I don't really fault anyone in the thread but I do find fault in my DVR. It stops recording at the last 10 minutes of the show so I've missed the flying car and stuff apparently.

As for the show? I honestly don't think even having a cameo by Samuel L. Jackson can save it. The first episode was pretty good. The second...not so much...

Here's what killed the show for me. AN INFLATABLE RAFT PLUGS THE HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. Are. You. KIDDING. Me. Seriously? That's how they handled the giant hole in the side of the plane? A raft? Why didn't they just use a fat guy? Or better yet Agent Colson should've walked up to the hole all bad ass like and stuck a finger in it and said, 'That's how you repressurize an airplane with a hole in it S.H.I.E.L.D. style'

I'm not sure if it's because I've missed a total of 20 minutes between episode 1 and 2 but I can't really get behind this show. As unbelievable as all three Iron Man, one Thor, Captain America and the The Avengers and the two Incredible Hulk movies were I could still get into those movies. But this? This with it's, 'HEY!!! GET THE RAFT!!!' approach to solving an issue is just...well....silly.

I'm going to play catch up this weekend and watch the last 10 minutes of both episodes then watch episode three this week. If they don't come back with something better than a raft in a hole at 36k feet then I'm done.

Oh it's totally dumb and cheesy yet it makes me love it more. I'm just hoping Fitz-Simmons make their way into a situation with Stark and Banner, I need that techno-babble conversation to happen.

The episode was good up until he ran over and grabbed the inflatable. I immediately screamed, "NO!! Are you serious?!?! They aren't ACTUALLY doing that are they? ARE THEY!?!?! NO! This isn't the friggin' Looney Tunes!!!" and at that point it was difficult for me to sit through the rest of it...not that I actually got to see everything since my DVR stopped recording and I was unable to watch the rest of the recording.
