Please keep in mind that this is to be a civil discussion about the Mass effect series, not a crucifixion of Bioware's development team.

With spoilers very much rampant make sure to put them in a spoiler to not ruin the game for people.
The spoiler tags can be used like so [spoiler.] and the matching tag would be [/spoiler.] without the dots(.) at the ends.

ALSO - In respect to povuholo, as well as the players who are reading through our thread, trying to avoid the details of the ending, a thread specifically for the endings has been created. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1361223-mass-effect-3-ending-discussion-thread-3-spoilers/page__st__90 In light of this, it would be greatly appreciated that you do not post discussion of the ending to Mass Effect 3's ending here.

Thread Rules:
  • This is an ongoing topic for discussion about Mass Effect series, so keep the discussion on the games.
  • It is understandable if you don't like Mass Effect games. We have no problem with you sharing this, but this is an ongoing topic. As such, it is primarily based on the positive aspects of the games, so if you don't like them don't post.
  • This is an ongoing discussion and some people don't like Mass Effect games. If you try to provoke them it is just as bad. If you do disagree with someone, please don't drag it into a fight. This topic is primarily for what we like about the games and our ongoing experiences.
  • Respect forum rules. If you are unclear review them here.
  • Respect for other forum members is perhaps the most important. We all have opinions and we are all human beings. Treat each other with respect.

I'm hoping that not every MP weekend from now on will have "Complete a Gold Match" as it's squad victory condition. (It's been that for the last two, if I'm recalling right....)

Cool, been waiting for someone to make a new ME thread. I caved in over the weekend and bought the first one on Steam (full price :( ). I'm actually a little shocked at how smooth it's running, since it looks much, much better than New Vegas. I'm only two hours in, now wandering around the Presidium. My favourite feature so far is how dialogue is done. It really makes the game feel like a movie.

I picked the Soldier class, I assume that's the best class for a beginner to the game? At first glance the Infiltrator class seems like the closest fit to my normal style.

Yes, I have the Ultimate Edition myself. I am confused with why he compared the first Mass Effect to it though. Different studios, different release years. He literally could have picked any other game. The New Vegas comparison is strange.

So I decided I'd give Gold a try to earn more Creds and the achievements. Got kicked from 3 games because I "was not ranked high enough" and/or "aren't using a lv.20; therefore can't hold my own."

WTF I'm well capabale of holding my own and really don't care if I'm revived or not
Surely me as cannon fodder is better than no me at all :ermm:

If you have not played the other 2 Mass Effect games don't bother, they fall far short.Your favorite feature is shambolic to say the least in the 3rd installment(auto dialogue) :yuck:

He was comparing the graphics and how well they ran on his computer.

Despite the fact that I have an Arcade Gannon avatar and have a majority of posts in the New Vegas forum? ;) It's not rocket science.

Meh. Personally, I found all three games (ignoring The End) to be great. And really didn't notice this "autodialogue" thing that some people are really getting down on. But, then, I've played plenty of different kinds of RPGs, including lots of JRPGs, so compared to half-hour-long cutscenes, there's plenty of dialogue choices in all the ME games.
