Ive recently acquired the master destruction spells fire storm, lightening storm, and blizzard but i can not get any of them to cast??? My Destruction is 100 naturally and i have armor bonuses that reduce the casting cost to 0, so magika is not an issue, but they do not cast.

I can equip the spell, they are apparently all duel cast spells cause when equipped they take up both L and R.

I pull back on both triggers (x-box) and both hands glow just like any other spells charging but when i release to cast nothing happens.

Is this a known bug? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a special way to cast the master spells different from any other?

Help!!!

The master spells take a long time to charge before they are ready to cast. Are you waiting long enough? Do you have enough Magicka to cast them? They cost plenty of Magicka to cast. (These are just the first things that popped to mind......You probably already checked these.)

i reckon its just a time thing, just wait until your chracter is standing with both hands up, and not doing any animation, then your ready ( this takes about 5 seconds)

magika is not an issue since by bonuses on armor/jewelery reduce the cost to zero. I did see that these spells, unlike any others, can be interrupted. The firestorm spell eminates out from the caster so i was using in in melee when i had enemies right near by. So i figured it was just being interrupted. So...I just walk out in the open somewhere to try it. Middle of nowhere outside of whitrun, nothing nearby, pulled the triggers (x-box) waited at least 8-10 seconds, released,.....nothing!!!

I'm really confused? I have 100 destruction but have not taken the master destruction spell 1/2 magika perk since i have zero casting cost bonuses. Is that perk, for some strange reason, required to be able to cast this???

Or, even tho the casting cost is reduced to zero by my bonuses do i still need to have the actual basic casting cost in magika? even tho the magika doesnt get used?

The master level destrucion spells aren't even that good so your not really missing out. The damage isn't impressive either. if you've significantly reduced the casting cost dual casting expert level spells is going to net you more damage. The only one of real worth is Lighting Storm as its a continuous stream of damage and could be used to nail dragons while still in the air.

Don't pull both triggers. Just pull one

Yeah, even though you're using both hands to cast it it's not actually being dual-wielded, and in fact can't be dual-wielded. I think you need the right trigger, but it might not matter which one you use since both hands are involved.
