Master Map of Everything

Post » Fri Nov 02, 2012 7:19 am

I'm guessing Tamriel is like the whole country and Skyrim (like Oblivion and Morrowind) are provinces within Tamriel. I'm not sure about this but this is what i gather from playing Skryim.

And to my QUESTION: Is there like a master map of all of Tamriel or all of the Elder Scrolls world? And am i right about Tamriel being the largest unit of land with Skyrim being a province? Is it like country, province, hold, city?

Tamriel is the continent, which is currently ruled by two major factions and a few smaller, self-governed states.

Skyrim and High Rock are provinces of the Empire, the capital of which is the province of Cyrodiil (as seen in Oblivion). The Empire once ruled all of Tamriel, however the recent war with the Aldmeri Dominion and the aftermath of the Oblivion Crisis saw the Empire's slow collapse to its current state.
The Aldmeri Dominion rules Summerset Isle (AKA Alinor) and Valenwood, with the two kingdoms of Elsweyr being a part of the Dominion as 'client states'. The Dominion is ruled by the Thalmor from Alinor, and thanks to a treaty with the Empire that ended the Great War, Thalmor agents operate throughout Tamriel. For example, the Thalmor Embassy in Skyrim.
Hammerfell is an independent state, having seceded from the Empire after the Great War. Politically, Hammefell is quite unstable.

There are also other continents on Nirn (the planet on which the majority of the games take place). Akavir and Atmora are the two most commonly referred to.

Yes, though we have only seen http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120926224044/elderscrolls/images/d/da/Map_arthmodeus.jpg places in maps included with the series (minus the island at the bottom).
