Master should be default difficulty

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:41 am

I don't understand why people bother even normal if there is no challenge? When I started this game I didn't knew anything about scaling and was pissed one shotting everything, so I started new game from master mode.

I think master is allmost like normal difficulty, maybe slightly harder than normal.

I've done archer 1-25 so far without using pots+bs perks+enchant perks on master. It just gets easier everytime I gain new perks for my own skills. So I'm sure that warriors which are maybe weaker should clear it easy with using pots+bs example. I don't consider myself any pro gamer so I'm sure master for someone is even easier than for me. I have only xp from wow mostly really. I'm just avarage joe who don't like oneshot stuff.

No, it should not be default, not everyone plays the way you do, infact, most don't.

All master does is speed up your leveling process, breaking what little balance is already present. You're aren't impressing anyone by playing on master, you're simply getting to end-game OP status faster because you have to use your combat abilities a lot more often.

WHOOPITY DOO.

I agree. It should be middle difficulty. Or the difficluty between the middle and hard level.

I play between Adept and Master. The problem is the scaling. Each timei enter a dungeon I find the bandits too easy on Expert, so i bump it up to Master - then comes the boss which is way way too high level compared to the other mobs, and then i gotta scale it down to expert. Then there other bosses whose hirelings i take on, on master but once i face the boss I gotta scale down to Adept and sometimes Apprentice to be able to finish the dungeon.

The perceived difficulty depends alooooot on what spec you go for, this game is of course very unbalanced, and if you dont realise how much your playstyle/perk choices will change the difficulty you must be simply [censored].

I'm a rubbish player that plays Bethesda games for the exploration and role playing. Easy mode for me, I get the most enjoyment that way.

Does Master really speed up leveling? Hmm, wonder if expert is better then. Adept seems too easy (at least for me), and not sure how I liked expert compared to master. I'm waiting till tomorrow for the patch to make a main (plus I'm not home until tomorrow, so I can't play anyway)...but leveling seems fast enough already. However, I'm going to play dead is dead, so I doubt I would level that much on Master :P

1-12 lvl I died alot in master especially because no spammable cheat pots allowed. 12+ once you get perks for bow it get lot easier. So it's slower of course. Of course it also depends where you go quest. Some places I skipped for later because it was impossible while other were very hard and some normal. But it all changes 12-14+ to clearable content.

If you use pots+bs perks then it's easy 1-12 for master and lvling is as fast as adapt.

I find it VERY difficult in places on Master level, at level 30 there are these Dread Lords, like 10x the strength of a Draugh, and in one mission there was like 5 of them to kill :ahhh: Needless to say, i ran away after doing squat to their health with multiple x3 sneak attacks. there are also some really strong bandits, the strong ones with magic are a nightmare to deal with. But otw to level 30 it was reasonabely enjoyable on Master, difficult battles, but having to re-load a skirmish 10+ times drains the fun a bit.

So as I'm not enjoying Master difficulty at certain points, i will be going down a level to Expert, or whatever the next one down is, personally.

Some peeps you one-shot cause they're chumps. Bosses you don't.

If I encounter something that's too hard for me at my current skill level, I come back later with better gear, a higher level, or maybe a companion to help me out. I also invest perks in non-combat skills even though I'm and out and out warrior. That's how I think the game should be played, not just mowing everything down in way to get to the end.

This thread makes no sense, and it makes even less sense that people actually bothered responding to it.

This is the kind of thread that should be ignored and let die a quiet death.
