You can't even pickpocket NPCs?

Firor looks like he wants to pickpocket the photographer...

Damn, he mentioned Adventure zones again! Have we had any definitive answer as to what those are?

I doubt it, so they said about horses before Skyrim... that they may not be included,,,this is too much a deal for stealth characters to just dump it.

For the record (having just finished reading it), he never actually says it's out. He just says it'd be hard to do.

Pick-pocketing other players is a bad idea. Pick-pocketing NPCs is ok

I think his point was what would happen if you get caught? That likely means you cannot fight NPC's and that there is no jail. Implementing pickpockting would need all these systems in place first.

If they removing being able to pick pocket NPCs then this isnt a TES game.

If they remove anything from TES single player games, then it isnt a TES game.

That is a highly unrealistic viewpoint.

"It leads into design questions that we're unsure about..."

That says to me, it's not in...yet. It's statements like this that re very...political. They don't come out right and confirm anything. At the same time, they don't rule it out either.

Why is he addressing the Pickpocket issue to your friends? I mean, why can't it be handled like attacking within the factions? Just allow it in the PvP area.

However, this whole "stealing the clothes of someone's back" thing is utterly ridiculous to begin with....IMO.

The "I demand Skyrim Online" attitude always makes me laugh. It has to be different. It's an MMO, not a single-player game. People really need to make peace with this, you're guaranteeing your disappointment if you don't.

I can see why pickpocketing would be problematic. I mean, if you could pickpocket NPCs, what fiction could reasonably explain why you can't do the same to player characters? There's no easy answer.

However, it makes me wonder about the in-game status of thieves and rogues. I'm hoping they won't simply become burst damage or skirmish DPS, like they are in almost every MMO out there. I'd like sneaky types to have some interesting utility, like they do in DDO or DCUO.

So under absolutely no circumstance are you allowed to be a bad guy? Unless you roleplay yourself being on the "wrong" side, of course. All those ordinators are just there to look pretty?

I agree that pickpocketing other players would be a bad idea. Unless you got junk that the player wasn't carrying anyway. Although what would be the point if I can't depants him?

NPC's on the other hand, should be fair game.

I'd like to be able to pickpocket npcs too (not other players). They said we could steal from npc houses etc, shouldn't pickpocketing them be doable as well?

Where do you draw the line though? Should you be allowed to kill NPCs? And what happens if they need to use that axe/soul gem you just took as part of a quest?

There are some that keep saying that, and while you are correct in that is is an MMO, I think people will be surprised how many solo player come into the game.

Draw the line at killing npcs of course. Pickpocketing from npcs only causes random and trivial items to be spawned into your bag (use an RNG to generate something - WoW managed pickpocketing btw), while killing them might screw stuff up.

Oh right, so basically people just want a WoW clone and not a TES game. Yes I demand the game to be like Morrowind / Oblivion / Skyrim, and not like WoW, otherwise it isnt an Elder Scrolls game.

TESO is a successor to the most successful single player RPG franchise, dont forget that, Most of the fans for this game are going to be single player, not multi player fans.

I wouldn't see it exactly like that, the quests probably have all sorts of options to be evil, but fighting a random npc in the middle of town is probably a no-no because it would cause too much confusion.
