This guy follows you to that tree to get some sap or whatever it is...and he turns on you etc.

So...i found this almost impossible when the tree people came at me after i'd got the sap. So i re-loaded at Whiterun and he was still with me. So i murdered him in cold blood in front of the guards and didnt even get a bounty! is this because the guy is a criminal or something lol.
