So I just got Meeko and I my daughter asked if she could keep him, I said yes. My only problem is, in order for him to stay in the house, I told him to wait. So that isn't fun if he can't move around, right? Is it like that, where he stays in one spot, in order to keep him?

I think he's suppose to follow your kid around once you dismiss him. Not completely sure on that though considering I'm still holding out on adoption in hopes of Dunmer children.

I tested that theory and now it looks as though he wonders around my house. He's cool too have, if not a bit noisy.
