The title basically pertains to me. I feel that whenever I go head to head against someone and we melee each other, I end up losing 9/10 times. The only times I can get a melee kill is if I catch the guy off guard. Otherwise, I'll straight up blast him with the Feline and hope I can get my bullets out before he gets 2 hits in. I don't know how everyone else seems to do it so well. I know how to use guns, killstreaks, my armor, etc., but melee still gives me problems. Has anyone else here tried to beat a guy down, then he disappears from view and you're desperately spinning and mashing R3 until you fall to the ground dead?

Hit it with the butt to the face as often as possible.

that's your problem right there.. i have also panic meleed and end up dead most of the time..

if the guy gets out of your view and if you melee, it will not automatically turn and melee the guy.. you have to face the person to melee successfully.. if the guy is out of your view, try and turn around to face him and then start melee.. do not melee smash if you dont see him, it makes you vulnerable..

and also lag may play a part

I had some better luck today. I just boosted the look sensitivity so that I can turn faster. The downside is that my accuracy with the Scarab dropped 2%. I think I'm just going to use a look sensitivity of 40-50 so that I can still shoot well. I'll stop the panic melee and try to turn and find him before mashing. If I die, then I'll accept the fact that I would've been dead anyhow.

Yeah same here, but more like I die 10/10 times. Pretty sure it's because of the lag, freaking 1 red bar, and also panic melee I guess. I'll try increasing the sensitivity a bit and face the bastard before I try to melee him.

Yeah, its happened to me as well. I care more about the stealth melee not working properly though, as I don't always melee people in the face.

i saw a tip on a site which said dont go head to head with melee, first hip fire at them, and then melee, as they reckon a few shots then melee is far more effective.
