Memory allocation error

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:52 am

hi,

i got the error message in the third level, after the short undergound train station. The level ends there and after the movie the game crash. The error message says "Memory allocation für 4294967295 bytes failed"
Are there any solution for this problem?

I have the same error. I've been looking for days and nothing yet. I updated with the patch 1.1 and still nothing.

I have that error at Halo CE.

Try to outdate your IE to 7.

I have the same problem: CryEngine Error "Memory allocation for 4294967295 bytes failed". Single player, beginning of "Seat of Power" after the infection video when the game loads again it crashes. I replayed the previous mission, started only from Seat of Power, nothing helps, still the same crash. Very frustrating as I cannot continue with the otherwise awesome game!

Basically means you ran out of memory, some people have claimed that the MP has a mem leak so that isn't a far fetched theory.

Any of you using custom autoexec.cfg's by chance?

I'm having the same issue, but it was fine two days ago. With or without autoexec.cfg file, I get the same error.

Running game through Steam on Win 7 Pro, AMD HD 6950, 4Gb Ram.

Check your virtual memory settings in windows and make sure you have sufficient space allocated for VM.

Close your anti-virus software.

Close all open programs.

This happened to me 4 times in a row on any SP map.
I restarted my PC, and all was well.

I ended up going two levels back, played those again, and the levels that were crashing worked after that. Just finished the game, loved it!

i had the same problem and i think its because of windows,
just re-instal windows and if you have windows vista go to windows 7
that works for me.

I'm experiencing this as well, suddenly started after i died at a part i don't understand yet with aliens and a CELL building. I tried restarting my computer, run as administrator, and every trick in the book that i know but everytime i tried to resume my game it crashed. It is now a few days later, hoped a patch would fix it or somehow it would work again, to no avail.

have you tried to just restart the mission, or to re-instlal windows(if you have vista got to 7,because your pc will be abel to run faster and better).

I have completed the game once on normal level and am now trying a harder level and have the same memory allocation crash problem at the same point in the game as others here.
I'm running W7 x64
3ghz intel core duo
Nvidia gtx 260
4 gb ram

It's run great up to now on high spec. Dunno what's happening.
