Merchants actually selling their wares

I'd rather see the guns and armours on display taken away completely, and just rely on the vender lists. I mean, in the "wild west" would you leave a gun on the counter, even unloaded?

Maybe make copies and give them some name that indicates they're worthless, like "Garbage 9mm Pistol" and when the player activates the object gets a generic "This is in such bad repair, there is no way to make it usable again." Something like that.

In a way, kind of like the fake ebony stuff in display cases in Oblivion.

Blackice
You misunderstood (or I misconveyed) my thought. In the FO3, the vendors (or their chests, not sure) ran a script that checked to ensure that the vendor was still alive. Once they died, it ran a script that would remove a bunch of items from their containers, preventing you from getting most of it. But it would still allow someone who didn't mind completely removing a vendor from the world to acquire quite a large amount of stuff.

I'll stop talking about this and let the post get back on topic. Sorry to do this. Gonna go make a topic for this now.

Its a work in progress and my first mod.
I think you will find for the merchants covered,
