Merge Patches not Supported (and question on Bash Patch)

Post » Wed Nov 20, 2013 8:28 pm

So I heard that I should try Merge and Bash Patches, however, when I go into TE5EDIT it tells me that Merge Patches are no longer supported by Skyrim?

Is this the case, or is this just a warning to put people off if they don't really know what they're doing?

ALSO, should I use a Bashed Patch WITH a Merged Patch ANDDD can I use the Bash Patch with NMM (as Wrye Bash confuses the hell out of me!)

I am no expert on either programme, but TES5Edit does not support merged patches for Skyrim and apparently never did. The programme now just gives a warning about it.

I tried it and it seems much easier than using Wrye Bash and it seemed to work, but TES5Edit did include several mods that Wrye Bash did not, so the esp was bigger. So I removed the TES5Edit merged list and made a Bash patch merged list esp.

I have recently been having microstutter, CTDs and total freeze ups I never had before. I do not know if it is new mods recently added or if I did the Bash patch wrong. So I deleted both it and the SkyProc Dual Sheath Redux patch and redid them.

I have not played long enough to determine if it has improved things, but Wrye Bash only knows about certain levelled lists and you have to tell it about any other mods that have them.

I REALLY wish there was a simple, step-by-step available for ding this for Wrye Bash. I asked in the Nexus thread and got no response.

I do not understand the tags like delevel/relevel/STAT/BASH etc. All I wanted to do was make sure the levelled item lists for all chests and NPCs were merged so that nothing was missing from any of the mods I was using.

I do not use NMM (not needed) but I do use BOSS.

I did manage to find a Youtube video that held my hand through the Bash Process and it was REALLY simple, if you want me to send you the link to it?

It's in two parts, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQyvfV5rKFg is the first video.

EDIT: For some reason the link to the first takes you to the second and I can't change it! But yeah, the first should be linked on the video anyway :)
