I was traveling near Solitude when I came across the Statue of Meridia, I was expecting her to talk to me like my other characters, do I need to be a higher level?

You aren't a necromancer or vampire, are you?

Level 12 is the minimum for the Meridia quest to trigger. Once you hit that, just walking up the steps to the statue starts the dialogue - and the quest. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem, and I have tried every few levels up to 40. Still no dialogue.
