Biased reviews, just like the CoD series. Played MGS, never saw what all the fuss was about to be honest. If anything, they seem to get worse the more of them they make.

mgs4 is from 2008 and ign gave it a 10, gamestop gave it a ten about 80% of official reviewers gave it a 10,also it is ps3 only,which makes it more unique

Man.... I must be the only one that did not like MSG4 ....at all.
I mean, the gameplay was kinda cool.... but....
if I want to watch like 20 minutes (it seems) of anime cinematic.... I'd rent a damn anime cinematic movie.
I want to play a game, not watch a game.
Beat the game and sold it back ...pronto.
Can rave on it all you want... to me... it svcked.

I'm a huge MGS fan. But just look at http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/metal-gear-solid-4-guns-of-the-patriots Now look at http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim Apply basic math.

You'll come to find out that game creators market their best scores. Those types of games are for occasional gamers. Skyrim is definitely not for everybody and those of us (everyone on this board I hope) that love RPGs will see it in a positive light.

P.S. A 10 score rating is meant to say it is perfect. Giving ANY game a 10 is just ridiculous and ignorant to think that something is so good it cannot be better.
Skyrim has SO MUCH within the game world; of course not everything will be perfected and those will drag the score down a tad.

The Metal Gear Solid series will always be my favorite series, even above the Elder Scrolls.

No amount of lore can trump METAL GEAR!

Arkham city also got a 10.

IGN, for example, states that a game that has a 10/10 can indeed be flawed, but it's a masterpiece that should not be missed by anyone.
