Metro: Last Light

Post » Wed Jul 18, 2012 7:44 pm

The trailer is up. Though it doesn't tell much, it still was pretty cool. Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1omOscHnSM&feature=feedu
I already know that there are quite large number of fans of the original here on the forums. What are you guys hoping to see gone, improved from the original game?

It's really fun, yet somewhat terrifying... (I rented the first for the 360, never finished it sadly...)

The first game was awesome, that trailer was awesome, and I have no doubt this game will be awesome.

I love me some post-apocalyptia.

good god did some of the levels in metro 2033 scare the [censored] out of me. Ill be picking this title up since Metro 2033 is one of my favorite games for this generation. I tried to see if i could discover new stuff and i think i did but i did see some of the originals such as the AK and the Bastard Gun. Hopefully they will make that ranger mode DLC a default for this game, make it harder, and bring back the option of playing the game in different languages. More grotesque monsters should be added as well. Im also curious how they will translate the ending from the previous game.

I can't wait, 2012 is shaping up to be a great year in gaming already. I'm also curious as to if this one will follow 2033's "Good" ending or "Bad" ending. I'd really like to see some Dark Ones as allies... they are an interesting race. Also, good to see Khan will be back; he was one of the few that actually survived 2033, it seems.

Thanks for the links. They were a bit more telling of what to expect from the game than the trailers. Seems like the great atmosphere from the original is going to be present, to say the least. Definitely a good thing.

i remember from an interview they did last year they said that they werent going to follow the events of the book for the next game. I assumed it would have been Metro 2034 but now this title came out so idk what year it would fall under. I think the bad ending is canon to the book.

"We don't want to dumb this down, or westernize it,"

Don't worry about it, the description of the video has a hilarious typo as well. Give you a hint, they mangled tid-bit.

I had no idea you could just stare at them and they'd ignore you. So many wasted bullets :(

didnt work for me... one would just pop up behind me then i would just run like hell. By the time i reached the end of the level, i drew a HUGE sigh of relief. that level was intense.

I loved fighting Librarians. To date, they are the only enemy that had me literally shouting in rage at the screen, in some unthinking attempt to cause them to back down.

The first one was pretty fun, I didn't like how it chose which ending you got though. I'm not really a fan of multiple endings regardless, but I thought the things you had to do were kind of stupid and it didn't even tell you, so it was all luck.

Oh, and THAT [censored] JELLY LEVEL IS TERRIBLE. The guy kept running forward like he thought it was a race, and if he just stood still for 2 whole seconds I could actually cover him. It didn't help that if two of the little bastards died at the same time my computer lagged to hell. This was the first and only game where I turned the difficulty down for a level because I didn't feel like trying to complete it for the 50th time. Not to mention I didn't have enough ammo for it, despite the shelves in the back giving you some military grade ammo, but if I used it all there I didn't even have any ammo for the next stage.

I had issues in the beginning too. The trick is to aim for their spawn . . . things before anything else. Then you take care of the actual creatures. If you do that, that section is nothing.
