No Mic Support

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:09 am

So Bethesda what is this about? We get Kinect support but no mic support what so ever? I figured that would be such an easy, and obvious thing to do since, I will go out on a limb here and say that, 99% of people who play PC games have mics.

I remember a fps game that used voice commands via the mic to quickly direct your team mates in combat, might of been Ghost Recon, not sure. Anyways it is a shame to see that no other game really uses a simple computer mic, and even a game that now has voice support on a Xbox 360 via Kinect doesn't get mic support? I know there is a mod for it, but that's just lazy IMO. Can't be to hard to make it so I can use my mic to cast Thu'um's and talk to my companion.

Are you sure there will not be mic support? Right now they are heavily advsrtising the Kinect integration as it seems XBOX 360 is the platform they tend to favor in terms of marketing, exclusives, etc. But it does not seem far-fetched to think that they could very easily translate that to mic support for the other platforms, so after an "exclusive" Kinect release perhaps they will add that.

So Bethesda what is this about? We get Kinect support but no other stuff that I really want and I think that's terrible because it's things that I think there should be and I don't care about anything else and you're all really unreasonable and I HATE YOU!!!!
Fixed that for ya.

I normally don't go the direction of saying there's a mod for that...

But since you brought up that you are talking about the Pc version... well

there's a mod for that. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5626

And before anyone yells at me for being a Pc elitest > I play on xbox.

If anything they are giving us xbox players something that the PC community already has :)

Put word's in your mouth for ya.

How is that fixed? Am I not allowed to voice my opinions on things? Because I find it odd that they can do Kinect support but not mic support, even though games much older then it have already shown it can be done? That doesn't mean I hate them or am pissed off. Since you fixed mine, I took the time to fix yours. Because you do not agree with my opinion doesn't mean that I am on here flaming or trying to hate on anything. Maybe you should take note of that instead of responding with a arm chair knee jerk reactions to what people say.

How about instead of doing Kinect support which most Xbox owners don't have, they just did mic support on PS3, Xbox and PC? That would be far better then just Kinect support, sorry you don't agree with that.

I still say Pc already has mic support.

Ps3 gets screwed, but that's kinda expected by now.

You didn't change a thing....

And I agree Sotic, I was so psyched hearing that we could just shout dragon shouts. But then I was told that was just Kinect.

Oh I know there is a mod :) No worry either about the fire.

I just think the idea to do Kinect support, even though most Xbox owners I know don't even have one, is rather silly considering they could of done Mic support on all three platforms and everyone could have had fun with the shouts.

Mic support would be a cool feature.

Probably because Kinect has built-in voice recognition and they don't need to create their own base. But if one man was able to create ThuuMic, then Bethesda really has no excuse.

The reason why the Xbox gets mic support now is that the Kinect has voice recognition software built in. They would have to create or license software to add support to the others.

Eh, I'm alright with Kinect rather than mic support. But I do have a Kinect, so I may be biased. I also wouldn't mind mic support, but from what I understand, it requires extra software.
