No Midnight Opening :-O

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 9:24 pm

Absolutely raging that my local Game is not having a midnight opening for thursday night, as according to the assistant manager, there is no demand for skyrim :-O Anyone else have similar issues with no midnight opening near you?

How far is the next Gamestop? Maybe they can switch your preorder to another store :(

Am in Ireland, Cork City to specific. When i preordered in septemeber i was told that their would be a midnight opening. My boyfriend was told the same when he preordered his last month. But apparent;y they changed their mind, most likely because they are so focused on Call of Duty :-( Its the largest and best shop for games in the city, and the only other decent one is Gamestop, a different shop altogether from Game. Just svcks so much that i have to wait another 9 hours, it opens at 9 a.m on friday. Yes only another nine hours, but my parents are visiting the city that day and some friends from home are coming up for the weekend so we only get a few hours to play it till monday :-O

Moral of the story is: Social Lives svck so much when you are a gamer :-(

There's 3 EB game shops in my city... none are having midnight launches... there's one in the city besides me... it is.

Go figure.

Pretty sure my local GAME wont be doing one either, but I'm not too bothered. Waiting another 9 hours, most of which I'll be asleep, isn't going to kill me :)

Unless your buying from GAME for the reward points have you considered your local Tesco/ASDA if any of them are open 24 hours as that may be a way to get it at midnight in your area

No midnight opening here, either. But then again I pre-ordered from GAME so I'll probably get it a day early.

You all could just go to the local Gamestop or whatever anyway.

Just hang out in front and have a Occupy party and do not forget to bring game appropriate outfits.
If you cause a ruckus, you might even make it on local media prime time.

I'd not be inclined to attend such, it is not my bag. Even if I was inclined I'd be too inebriated to drive there safely.

Oh well.

I'm sorry to hear that. Initially the store I generally buy my physical copies from (within a mall) wasn't going to, but the crazy huge sales for Skyrim made them change their mind. I'm officially getting it 10 hours sooner now.

I preordered the Collector's Edition, highly doubt tesco would have that. It just shocks me for them to say their is no demand for the game, i mean they had no problem opening it a few days ago for Call of Duty and Zelda before that, but not to open it for Skyrim :-O Blasphemy i tells ya, BLASPHEMY

Why would you get the game early? I preordered mine from GAME as well, and that doesn't mean we get a copy early, rather they save a copy for us and we collect it the day the game launches.

Every game I have ever pre-ordered from GAME has arrived early. Including MW3 and Battlefield 3.

My local GAME (Lincoln) isn't doing one either. I asked and preordered anyway (no deposit).

Walked up the street today and saw Gamestation IS doing one, so I preordered there instead :)

Ohh and i think he ment he ordered it off game.co.uk - usually when they post stuff out it arrives the day before release date.

My local gamestop said they were doubtful they would be having one when I preordered a month or so ago. However, I called and they said it was on!! Was bummed but now am super duper excited man!

yeah my local gamestation is doing one, I live in a reasonably big city though so I was expecting as much. Now just have to brave the nerd-queue while all the normal folk out drinking walk buy and give me derogatory looks. Perhaps I'll get drunk and say I thought I was in the kebab shop queue.
