Mini-pets, holidays, and other silliness we can do without..

One of the greatest features of the Elder Scrolls series has been the gritty, tough living atmosphere that avoids the generic silliness that is found in many other fantasy games, especially MMO titles. Guild Wars 2 took this to a whole new level, and I hated the game for it, as did many of the people I play MMOs with. I think it would be great if the developers of ESO resisted the urge to include childish themes, stupid little mini pets, holiday celebrations/events, and general silliness of any kind. For my part, I'm already really happy there are not going to be any gnomes or other "small" people running around my ankles.

What do you think? What are some features you've seen in other MMOs that are childish, silly, or just outright dumb that you would rather not see in Elder Scrolls Online? Would you like to see holiday celebrations or would you prefer to leave them out?

I really hope there won't be any pets and holiday events..
(And lore unfriendly clothes if they decide to put a cosmetic cash shop..)
