Mining and Chopping wood is tediously long...

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 5:26 pm

Does anybody else think this? We really need a skip button since once you have seen it you have seen it.

Oh and if you Mine with a Torch in your hand when the Mining has finished your character will be not be holding the Torch but keep his hand in the same position as if he was.

Doesn't work for me since I don't get the Wood/Ore.

Oh and this is a dual topic :)

No skip button. It should be as real as possible. Lol real life is always people wanting something done fast let are games be different. No wonder people die of stress lol always wanting to be on the go all the time and get everything fast.

It's just so...pointless especially since most of the time mining is in completely darkness, what's cool about that?

Yes and that is my point. You don't play this game so you can finish it fast even though there is one who just said he just finish the story lol what is fun about that.

If you find tedium fun then by all means dont hit the skip button. Putting in a skip button for others does not hurt you. To me realism is fine so long as it does not get in the way of fun, and watching a boring long animation over and over is not fun. Kinda like how they need either a mod or away to skip that intro cart ride, 3 times ok, after that just hurry the bleep up :banghead:

Oh and to the print money reply, money is stupid easy to get in this game just like all tes titles.

Its called ROLE PLAYING with a little realism, hence the term RPG. I have been so sick of some of the newer players that want nothing but instant gratification and everything handed to them. If people want to play games that last less then a day to finish, by all means play them. But don't come here and try and play a large open world RPG like TES and then whine about it being tedious.

I haven't even been to White Run yet.... I ALWAYS disappear into the wilderness and live of the land (lol) these things should be able to be skipped..

Why does me wanting to skip a lame cutscene make me a new player? If I wanted role play mining I'd play Minecraft.

If there was a skip button it might as well be a instant money button.

Yes but you can get money easily by doing it legit and actually taking time to get it, there's a reason you have to watch it.

Is it so hard to understand it would basically be like a cheat code giving you money each time?

How much money do you get exactly? more than looting enemies for things to sell?

If you want to play a game to play fast you go for the one shooter ones there enough of those out there. People always want something yesterday. Fast fast fast. Don't you know speed kills not only with cars lol.

It's just there to simulate time (to a certain extent) and probably to be a little bit of a drawback for choosing to mine or chop wood.

than why bother at all
go do something else
plenty to do in the game

skipping the animation for chopping wood would defeat the whole purpose and turn it into a free money printing machine as opposed to the tedious work it is supposed to represent
if you think it is boring (as I do) go out and loot some caves, burgle some houses do some quests etc.

Yeah I mean getting chased after by Giants is chill.

A Dragon smashing through the wall at the beginning is definitely supposed to make you chill...

You really don't know what you're talking about since you are just telling me that some repetitive cutscene is so people dont have to live yesterday and be fast fast fast. At least the other guys in this thread say it's due to spamming gold.

I actually don't care about money and the thought never crossed my mind. So what is realistic about waiting 20 seconds (?) for the mining to finish than 1 second?

Is this your first RPG or did you ever played a roleplaying game for real. You play RPG as if it is your real life. In real life you thing it takes one second for a miner to mine lol. That is all I am saying. Well a bit of realism as it takes more then 20 seconds also hehe.
