Missed exclusive content opportunity

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 9:49 pm

Why was there no exclusive in game content put into either the collection edition game or or collectors strat guide. i am spending upwards to 200 dollars on the game and although physical merchandise is nice, i would MUCH prefer something extra in game for dishing out the extra cash. Any thoughts?

Exclusive content is lame. Be glad they didn't do any, I know I am.

Um...then don't buy the CE. In game content for a game that PC users can mod is ridiculous.

You don't need exclusive content when there is the possibility of mods.

Because TES fans would freak out + the PC version has the construction set. I also really dislike exclusive content. It adds nothing.

I would have preferred something a little extra being tossed my way for finally being able to buy the game new, rather than used or old.

You already do: A brand new copy of the game. It's rare to be able to buy a Bethesda game used or old, because we don't like to give them up.

Besides which, you cannot buy this game used (on PC), it will be tied to your Steam account.

Even if there was exclusive content for lets say the console version, the PC modders can just mod their own relatively same version of that "exclusive" content thus defeating the purpose of said "exclusive" content.

They've promised 300+ hours of gameplay, plus "neverending" quests. How the [censored] is that lacking?

...

How can you say content is lacking when the game just got released? Go away.

Yeah, I wouldn't call 300 hours lacking, not in the slightest. If you rush through the game, and only do the MQ, then that's your fault to be honest.

1- Exclusive content for paying more is lame. It is, we all pay for the same game, we shouldn't get separated contents, if we did, I probably wouldn't buy the game, just rent it, or wait till the price doesn't give the company a [censored] of benefit, because that kind of things just make me wanna puke.
2- The content is lacking there? W...T...F? I mean...really? The content is lacking, in a game of hundreds of hours of playtime, because they don't give you an exclusive sword for lvl 5, or some [censored] like that? wow... People surprise me these days..

Let's put this to rest right now.

Preorders got a deluxe paper map.

Preorders did not get an in-game item because the game's code is open to the playerbase. Modders could just recreate or improve upon any in-game exclusive item.

How much fury and wrath and gamer nerd rage would we have on day one if some Xbox 360/PS3 player saw a modder post "in-game item dupe done, download here".

Yeah.

*sigh*

I wish the game was here. I can't pull myself away from the forums, and they're filled with this crap right now. Seriously people, use common sense. Please, think of the children. Or puppies. Or something.

I dont mind about no exclusive in-game content. Almost every single exclusive in-game content from any game I have recieved I have barely used because there is usually something much better in the game. Most exclusive in-game items are meant to be beginners items so arent very good. If it was something like a theme, in-game house :D , small skill or perk boost or something then I would feel differently
