I've restarted the game after a while of not playing and noticed that I no longer have an arrow indicating where my character is on the map. Does anyone know how to bring it back?

On a side note, I've found that if I remove a mod and then go in to play an existing game, the game will first on the missing items message box. Any one know anything about that?

Edit: Okay, the lock-ups appear to be caused by Random Alternative Start mod; at least they stopped when I removed it. The other problem persists.
