Am I missing out not having played Oblivion?

I actually prefer Oblivion. The factions are more detailed, and I enjoy the Oblivion crisis more than Dragons. I do prefer the leveling system in Skyrim though.

k so played OB for a day and it just feels weird compared to skyrim. Hunting/exploration is rather annoying, but i liked the creatures i could fight. Trolls are way better than skyrim's. Goblins are classic. And of course the DB are still epic. I am glad i went back to it but i gotta leave it for skyrim again

Oblivion was great.
There are so many references to what you do in Oblivion, in Skyrim.
All that stuff about the Tiber Septin and Martin Septim people mention in Skyrim is all part of the main questline in Oblivion.
Going in Oblivion (hell) in Oblivion was also freaking awesome.

Long love Morrowind though. That game had me in awe. I'll never forget walking into Balmora for the first time and being blown away by the amount of people, places and things to do in just ONE town.
No fast travel in Morrowind made for exciting gameplay as well.
Damn, I say play more Bethesda games holmes, they make way more than just Elder Scrolls games as well.

in my opinion your missing out on a great game with plenty of great quests, and fun gameplay. Graphics are really still quite good, if they matter to you that is. I mean if storyline and well written quests mean more to you then combat and silly kill cams and shouts, then yes play oblivion. You will like it.

Silly shouts?
Cmon, FUS RO DAHing stupid forsworn off of cliffs is amazing :D

It's an awesome game, but it came out in 2006, you have to remember that. The graphics won't be as good.

Oblivion for all its problems was still a great experience.
