In the quest were you need to capture and then talk to Odahviing, I have done that but then when it comes to freeing him he just starts attacking instead of taking me to the new place.

I have tried multiple times (releasing him myself and telling the guards to do it), making sure I have said I will release him on the condition he takes me but every time he just starts attacking again. I also cant seem to be able to re-trap after I release him, no matter how many times I "kill" him or lure him back under the trap.

Is there something I am missing or is it bugged?
