Missing textures in Markarth

I downloaded Skyrim via Steam and so far it's been working great! Good frame rate, high quality graphics, no problems at all except occasionally the widely reported randomly appearing dragon skeleton thing. Game's looked great for me, no visual oddities or hiccups.

Until now.

My character just did the drinking challenge in Windhelm, and woke up in Markarth. Now for some reason in Markarth I think there are random missing textures here and there. Like some flights of stairs, cave walls and such. They're just a flat purplish color. At first I thought it was supposed to be that way, but then I figured out that it's not right. I noticed it most in the underground caverns in Markarth, where the court wizard is (can't remember his name). Large patches of cave wall and entire flights of stairs are just this flat, textureless purplish color.

What's wrong here? I believe I'm already updated, as Steam automatically updates games. My laptop can run the game on high quality with barely any disturbances so I'm not convinced it's because of that. But maybe it is...
