MMO Genre

LOL, thats a good place to start... Without even reading anything but the titles of peoples post most of the topics seem geared towards peoples vision
of what MMO's are right now and expecting Bethesda/Zenimax to do the same thing.. Which who knows they might, but I hope the realize the current
turnoffs with the way companys make MMO's these days. The elder scrolls games,IMO, were created with a living breathing world concept in mind. Maybe not
with the early stuff like daggerfall and before due to computer tech levels and being a new company but the last 3 ES Titles have beenall about the whole
world concept not what most other RPG companies envision. gotta stop there or this will be about all that lol..

I wanted to post this because I would like to hear from people what they think the inherent MMO problems are in what they are playing now! I'm not talking
about game content but all the rest of the stuff.. Like MY main issue is when I play ANY of the major MMO's today the main issue seems to be the lack of NPC Realism
i.e. Everyone is always standing around not moving... which is not realistic and ruins any RPG experience I have outside of cutscenes... AS of me posting
this I have no idea what vision Bethesda/Zenimax has on trying to overcome such problems. Hopefully they are leaning towards a coop style MMO with certain
areas for warzones or Arena combat or whatever.. I would love to c something along the lines of more a single player experience with being able to interact with people
in some way. I love Star wars the old republic because I'm a Star wars fan ever since the 70's. Their cutscenes is what makes it different from other MMO's besides that
i get bored with it easily, don't get me wrong they have made a fine game but i see no other progression in the genre.

Question is is how do you create a MMO that gives individuals a single player experience without have to send 4gb/sec of data to keep every persons game in sync with
everyone elses game?

IF Elder scrolls online is created in the same fashion as other current MMO's then,IMO, It will tarnish Bethesda's Image of world creation. I expect/hope that if they can
somehow limit the Multiplayer aspect into something that will be more thatn a single player game, but smaller than 500 people in the same world it will be epic.

I recently got my June issue of Gameinformer in the mail and it talks about how TES:O will handle this issue.

While it is not perfect solution the article talks about "phasing". From what I could gather from the snippet in the article, with phasing players will see the world differently depending on what choices they made in certain quests and their quest progression. So if you killed or did not save a certain NPC you will not see that NPC anymore and your version of the quests will not include him, but you can still help players who are playing on a different phase.
