This is the only game in history where this has been an issue. Why is it an issue?

First MMO fans, you are getting an open world, fast action, great combat, great questing game that is better than 99% of the crap MMOs that are out there right now.

TES fans, you are getting another TES game! You get to play with more than yourself(and I know for some of you, this will be a first). You get a whole world of TES and not just one area. You can finally see areas you only dreamed about visiting.

It's not MMO vs TES. It's Massive Online The Elder Scrolls.

I think the main problem is that ESO is split between two different fandoms. On one side you have the Elder Scrolls fandom and on the other side, you have the MMO fandom. There are also people that are fandoms of both and I think their opinions are the best.

Personally I am more in the Elder Scrolls fandom than the MMO fandom, but I would like to enjoy TESO as an MMO. I definitely think the game needs to be as much like an Elder Scrolls game as possible and there are things I think they can improve, but I realize there are limitations due to it being an MMO.

Some people are just difficult by nature

I really found it hilarious when people complained about having fast travel in Skyrim; something that was [censored] optional for crying out loud.

Since there's a separate studio developing ZOL, it's not taking away from the TES franchise. I suspect most people that are negative are those that have been fighting against a TES mmo because of fear that BGS would be spending time on it rather than the solo games. That argument has been going on so long that it's become ingrained in their souls.

The same was said for SWTOR. You had kotor fans and MMO fans.

So yeah doesn't mean much unless the game is actually good.

I lean a bit more on the MMO side than TES but yeah, I like the idea of MOTES.
