AT&T, T-Mobile, or Sprint?

Post » Tue Jul 02, 2013 6:31 am

This 10GB just isn't working! I have 20Mbps that I can barely use! I need unlimited data, because I'll be using over 250GB per month. But these carriers are all trying to prove how great they are, so I don't know what the prices really are.

Which carrier has the best prices?

Also, I just got a VZW Galaxy S4, will I need to return it? I really don't want to pay $550.

I'm not sure that I understand the relevance if your links.

I'm asking about which carrier has the best prices, and if my Verizon phone will work on another network.

AT&T doesn't offer unlimited.

You'll get calls from either Sprint or T-Mobile (as well as possibly being cut loose) if you try using 250 GB a month on your phone's unlimited plan.

No.

All providers will throttle unlimited plans. Even T-mobile throttles, they are using a fair-use policy. More than 50GB/month would impact other customers and therefore you would be throttled down to 3G speeds. I'm sure Sprint has a similar policy, plus their 4G LTE network is limited.

Verizon by far has the most reliable network IMO. I get 25Mbit/sec (4G LTE) service here in West Virginia  Only provider with LTE in my area, AT&T has 4G (non LTE) service and Sprint has 4G (WiMAX) and will eventually have LTE in my area. T-mobile has limited service.

You can get 50GB/month packages from Verizon, but they aren't advertized and are very expensive ($375/month).

Cellular DATA isn't meant to be a replacement for normal Internet.

If you have Comcast, you can see if there are any Xfinity Wifi Hotspots in your area. They are free for subscribers, although most of them are indoor and coverage is limited.

Also, out of curiosity, what warrants a need of downloading 250GB of data/month? That seems outrageous.

That might be best unasked.

No one should stand between a man and his lolcat downloading.

Me and my Dad has always used AT&T and haven't really had any major problems.

I just spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at lolcat pictures. Thanks for that. :P

My family is on Sprint currently and rarely have dropped calls or lack of service, but it all depends on what is best in your area. I love Sprint's Unlimited Everything plan (though I rarely use it for calls and mainly text my family and one friend), but we get special discounts because of where my mom works, so we're all huddled on her family plan and dividing the cost equally among our eight (yes, all family) lines. But if Sprint doesn't have good service in your area, or was never target to get WiMAX or LTE, there's no real point to my recommendation.

It's funny because I have 4G LTE in my bedroom but 3G in my kitchen. My house is 982 square feet.
