Anyway, as hard as it is admitting this, I used to play neopets when i was a young teen. For anyone who hasnt played it, it has a few role playing elements. Anyway you could set up a shop, edit the display for this shop as much as you want with HTML, put items you had acquired in the shop for prices you choose and could really get involved in trying to keep your shop containing decent things at prices better than other peoples shops.
Something like this for skyrim would be awesome. Build or buy an existing shop, stock it with good loot you find, choose prices you sell at and have regular local customers that buy the goods if your prices are consistent or better than the rest of skyrims prices and at the end of the week you could collect your earnings or make a loss and have to pay out and had options for shop expansion or buying another one in a different location. Obviously youd have to have a follower or hired npc run the shop for you whilst you are out finding gear and doing quests. Would it be possible? Would it be an interesting role playing mods? Or maybe someones already done something similar? Maybe im thinking about the item value part of it too much and would be easier to have a system closer to gta vice city's business owning feature, where you buy it and then leave it to do its thing with not much involvement.
Just a thought anyway... any ideas/interest?
