Mod information saved in savefile?

As several (and quite illuminative) conversations and threads in these forums have taught me, certain mod information is actually stored on the savefile, and unlike the prior TES games and the new Fallouts, there is no safe way to remove that information and dependancies...at least yet "crosses fingers" but the actual information that is stored is not yet clear to me, so I thought of asking a few questions here hoping Arthmoor or some advanced modders on the matter can help me understand what is "safe" to remove and what kind of mods you are better off not touching after installing them

1. Ok as I understand the scripted mods are some of the most well known mods that actually store info in your savegames (like WATER or the probem with Sounds of Skyrim Civilization) but for example do mods like followers can be safly removed? For example if I use a custom follower that has its own esm and everything and I want to remove it is it just a matter of deleating the bsa and esp? do I have to dismiss said follower before erasing the files? is it safe to remove the esp and esm of said mod if I never actualy had interaction with the follower?

2. If I use a big overhaul or big cosmetic mod that use standard esps with custom meshes or textures is it enough to erase the esp and do a save without said mod just to "erase" it from my savefile, or is the info stored anyway and it will just clutter up my savefile by looking for its "parent" esp?

3. If a mod originaly came in a big package (with no separte custom scripts; all vanilla resources) and the modder decides to split it up and make it modular, and I decide not to use all the separte modules are those original records going to still be arround my savefile?

I am sorry if my questions sound weird but I had some bad experiences with Morrowind back in the day and lost several saves with hundreds of hours of play by not checking on these sorts of things, so I rather be safe thab sorry so I can continue enjoying this great game
