Mod Request: Character Save Folders

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 10:25 pm

Hello I was wondering would it be possible to make a mod that will make it so you save games into a characters folder so when you have two different characters you do not have to worry about accidentally saving over the others saves? Two games that I can think of that have what I am trying to say is Dragon Age: Origin and Mass Effect. I think this would be very useful for anyone with multiple characters.

You can try this http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15
I haven't used it but it seems to have profiles that you can switch between before you start playing.

Once you start playing on a character, it'll autosave into that folder though.

So if I download it and play it I can just play on my same guy I have been playing on? Cause I have read about some of the mods that have messed up peoples saved games

I had 3 characters, one still as a prisoner, and a mage and a thief before installing this mod. All it basically does is scan for named saves (manual saves), and throws them into a folder. You can also manually create a folder for a character, move known saves belonging to that character into the folder (quick saves with no real name information), and scan for new profiles. From there, this new folder will house nothing but saves from that character.

I did all this and I haven't had any problems at all. To be safe, make a back up of your saved games folder before trying it.
