1. Conjured/Channeled shield; I'd think it'd be cool if there was some sort of shield for spell users that would allow them to conjure or channel a shield (or shields) at the expense of magicka which acts as shields do except they block at the expense of magicka and allow a shield bash at the expense of (less) stamina along side perks that can enhance the effects of using said shield. I could see this perk or perks located in conjuration or in a seperate tree next to the already existant wards. I personally think it'd be more fun to channel such a shield. Using magicka to channel it while blocks consume magicka and negate a % of physical/magical damage based on perks. Could possibly create perks that allow it to block physical damage and absorb magical damage, or reduce the cost of such a cast etc..
2. Spell Making; I thought spell making was a very useful tool in the previous Elder Scrolls games. You can smith and buff weapons/armor so why shouldn't we be able to do the same for magic. I would definitely enjoy a spellmaking system in Skyrim. MAYBE instead of simply making spell after spell you could also improve spells. I could see this being done several ways. Improving a spell's existing effect or effects by sacrificing maximum magicka, using items and or other spells. Adding additional effects to a spell by sacrificing maximum magicka, using items and or other spells. Sort of like alchemy. Using ingredients to create a desired result. There was a mod in oblivion that did something similar this but I've forgotten the name.
3. Spell Damage; As I've seen in other forums, a handful of people think that spell damage is lacking and I'd have to agree..if someone shoots a ball of fire at you, you won't be on 2 feet charging in for a strike. You'd be hot n' cripsy. Of course it is just a game and I'm not saying we should over-empower magic but I think it could defeinitely use an imrpovement through better spells or better buffs through existing perks or maybe new perks.
